As the next Assetto Corsa Early Access update Friday comes closer, we did expect some teasers to appear on the web. The Kunos Simulazioni team have posted a new screenshot showing us a cockpit that appears to be part of a Lotus Evora GT4. Then again, it might also be a Lotus Evora GTC /GX, although that version is normally using paddle shifters instead of the pictures sequential stick shifter. If you know more, let us know. As usual there is no official statement that goes with the screenshot, but chances are we might see this car as a content add-on in friday’s update. Lotus developed the Lotus Evora S GT4 exclusively for use on the racing track. This FIA compliant racing car was announced to be eligible to race in over 12 of the world’s leading GT series. Powered by a naturally aspired 4 litre Cosworth DOHC V6 engine that is mid mounted this Lotus Evora GT4 delivers a maximum power of 360 PS at 6,500 rpm, and a maximum Torque of 445 Nm at 5,500 rpm. It was not yet clear if the cockpit shown, belonged to a Lotus GT4 or other GT racer.Today they are keeping us happy with some new eye candy showing us an Assetto Corsa Lotus Evora GTE parked in the pitlane. As said, yesterday we weren’t shure and decided it could be a Evore GT4, but with this new screenshot it becomes clear that the pictured model is wearing the Alex Job Racing livery and IMSA sticker and is in fact a GTE version as it was raced in the American Le Mans Series. With this Lotus, Assetto Corsa will feature another stunning GT car to join the already impressive line up. In 2012 Lotus Racing teamed up with US-based professional sports car racing team “Alex Job Racing”, running a Lotus GT class car in the American Le Mans Series. The Lotus featured the very recognisable black-and-gold livery as proliferated across the entire Lotus Motorsports division. The car was driven by Townsend Bell and Bill Sweedler, but was not very succesful finishing the season 17th in the Drivers’ Championship and 7th in the Teams’ Championship. As usual it’s not really official, but it is safe to say that we will see the Assetto Corsa Lotus Evora GT appear as new content in tomorrows AC Early Access update. This day marks the end of fascist regime after the end of the Second World War in 1945, and the day commemorates the people who laid down their lives fighting the fascism. 25th April is a public holiday in Italy. There are robust celebrations around the country to commemorate this day. Large processions are taken out in major parts of the country, and a general sense of celebration and bonhomie is prevalent throughout Italy on this day. The next update of Assetto Corsa Early Access will include the multiplayer mode and was previously scheduled for tomorrow's release; our work in the last two months has been strongly focused to complete and deliver this feature properly. We have also made investments to set several free public servers for our users and a proper lobby for servers created by, users, leagues, simracing websites and so on. However, due to the 25th April celebration, we might have some issues to get the best possible support from our italian based server provider, right at launch day. Multiplayer is one of the most awaited features for a lot of simracing enthusiasts, but in order to properly test in public the multiplayer mode, we need to get the best technical support possible; for this reason, and also in order to improve multiplayer functionalities and to develop some additional features, tomorrow's release has been shifted to Friday 2nd, May. This delay will allow us to release the multiplayer in a working day, getting fast and proper support by our provider, if needed. STI-228 Posted April 25, 2014 Share Posted April 25, 2014 Assetto Corsa Multiplayer coming on May 2 Assetto Corsa Multiplayer on May 2 Kunos Simulazion announced that the long awaited Assetto Corsa multiplayer functionality will be released on Friday May 2. Under normal circumstances, the next AC update was scheduled for tomorrow, but is now delayed till next week. Kunos Simulazioni stated that there is a very good reason for this delay. In Italy Liberation Day is celebrated on the 25th of April.Releasing the Multiplayer function on a national public holiday would mean that the developers would not be able to provide sufficient support because the provider that will be used to host the racing servers would not be able to assist should anything go wrong. It is also vitally important that the multiplayer functionalities of the Assetto Corsa Simulator can be carefully monitored on launch day to gather important feedback from this first public test. The Assetto Corsa multiplayer feature will bring the Sim to a new level, and will probably attract even more Sim Racers to compete to this next gen PC racer.
