ბერო Posted July 1, 2011 Share Posted July 1, 2011 BioWare “committed” to avoiding past mistakes Fan feedback has had significant impact on Mass Effect 3, according to Bioware’s Jesse Houston. After Mass Effect’s weapon and armour customisations drew criticism, BioWare scaled them back – but will revise them again based on new input, the producer told Wired. “We got a lot of feedback from fans that [the customization options] were too cumbersome, so we totally removed them for Mass Effect 2. We might have cut a little too deep with that,” he said. Players of both titles called for more melee options, hence Mass Effect 3′s Omniblade. “One of the big things that we’re trying to do is give players more choices. A lot of players wanted to get up close and personal, but didn’t have the tools to do that,” Houston noted. BioWare will also move forward with lessons learned from the mixed-feedback to Dragon Age 2. “We learned a lot about the way story flow should work,” Houston said of Dragon Age 2′s plot. “I don’t want to go into too many details, but ultimately, we’ve listened to the fans in a big way: We’re taking it very, very seriously and we’re committed to making sure we don’t repeat mistakes.” Mass Effect 3 is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in early March, 2012. Mass Effect movie coming to Comic Con – details The long-silent Mass Effect movie project will get an outing at Comic Con. Schwing. Gamefront reports Legendary Pictures, the production company behind Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Where the Wild Things Are, and a metric shit ton of other excellent films, has released its Comic Con schedule. A Mass Effect: The Movie panel is scheduled for July 22, featuring scriptwriter Mark Protosevich and BioWare’s Casey Hudson. Hudson, along with BioWare founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, serve as executive producers on the project. EA announced the movie deal with Legendary last year, but we haven’t heard much about it since then. Comic Con looks like our first opportunity to see how it’s shaping up. If you decide to order the game through EA’s new portal, the digital version will include the N7 Arsenal Pack, a Robotic Dog and the Squadmate Alternate Outfit Pack. It will also run you $79.99. Hudson said “stay tuned” when asked about the possible taster on Twitter: “Stay tuned for news on demo plans in a few months.” The original Mass Effect never received a demo, but Mass Effect 2 did. Perhaps this latest sneak peek might improve his reception. Mass Effect producer Casey Hudson released the image below to the Mass Effect Twitter feed to celebrate his 10,000th follower. Vega looks rather more interesting out of armour than in it, although the TwitPic comment thread suggests fans aren’t digging the newest human team member.
