The following sections list the important changes and the most common issues resolved

since version 290.53. This list is only a subset of the total number of changes made in this

driver version. The NVIDIA bug number is provided for reference.

 [GeForce 500/400 series]: Fixed the occurrence of some “Display driver stopped

responding” error messages that appeared when playing multiple videos. [915993]

 [GeForce GTX 590]: The GPU fan randomly spikes to 100% and then takes a few

seconds to return to normal. [895797]

 [NVIDIA Control Panel]: With extended mode enabled, there is no edit and delete

option on the NVIDIA Control Panel‐> Change Resolution‐>Customize window after

creating a custom resolution.[851254]

 [NVIDIA Control Panel]: On the Manage 3D Settings page, if an executable name is

added when the same file name is used for another game, only one game appears in

the list of custom profiles and the correct settings are not applied. [917643]

 [NVIDIA Control Panel] [Windows Vista only]: When attempting to set a 480p or 720p

HD resolution at 59Hz using the NVIDIA Control Panel, the PC resolution may get

 [sony VAIO notebook]: When playing 3D Blu‐ray content using PowerDVD in

Supports NVIDIA PhysX acceleration on all GeForce 8-series, 9-series, 100-series, 200-series, 300-series, 400-series, 500-series, and 600-series GPUs with a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory.

Note: Some applications may have higher minimum requirements.

Experience GPU PhysX acceleration in many games and demos, some of which are highlighted in PowerPack downloads here.

Supports NVIDIA PhysX acceleration on GeForce for SDK versions 2.7.1, 2.7.3, 2.7.4, 2.7.5, 2.7.6, 2.8.0, 2.8.1 and 2.8.3 (requires graphics driver v196.21 or later).

Supports control of your GPU PhysX configuration from the NVIDIA display driver control panel. (Requires graphics driver v196.21 or later).

AGEIA PhysX processors users should use and install older PhysX system software such as version 8.09.04. Note – AGEIA PPU acceleration support for 2.8.1 SDK or earlier, and Windows Vista and Windows XP only.
